Description

The ST164 chemical Injector made from stainless steel, designed to be part of a cleaning system to produce foam. This injector has a compressed air connection, which can create more dry sticky foam. A DN12 hose must be used with a wash gun that has 1/2" inlet and outlet. This injector allows the user to have up to two different chemical options attached. The different chemicals can be selected by positioning the lever.

Overview

RM Suttner ST164 Foam injector with compressed air module.

This venturi easyfoam365+ injector has a restrictive orifice that the water stream is forced through. Operating this foam injector with a device that contains a low pressure nozzle such as a Suttner ST75 foam lance causes a vacuum effect within the injector. Chemical is then drawn up into the water stream. These injectors are used in many industries for industrial cleaning including Agriculture, Automotive and the Food processing industry. This is an essential piece of equipment for anyone looking to design and build an efficient cleaning system within a factory environment. The ST164 allows the user to select between two different chemicals by simply positioning the lever. Suitable for systems used to clean vehicles carrying cattle and food processing areas to avoid bacterial spread. We have a range of equipment that can be used in combination with our injectors to apply foam. These are all designed and manufactured by RM Suttner in Germany. The ST75 Foam Head, ST76 Foam Blaster or our extremely innovative Triple Nozzle which is specifically designed for applying foam and disinfectant chemicals within food processing environments.

Foam application with compressed air

For those requiring a dryer more sticky foam this injector is fitted with a compressed air connection. A DN12 hose must be used with a 1/2" inlet and outlet wash gun to stop the foam collapsing when using compressed air. A lance with an air injector is not required.

The ST164 chemical injector is available in nozzle sizes of 1.2 - 2.8mm.

G&S have a range of equipment dedicated to cleaning food processing environments. Take a look at our Food Industry page for more information.

Nozzle Sizing

In order for the chemical injector to add chemical to the water stream the pressure being exerted through the injector needs to be lowered. It is important to get the correct injector size combined with foam nozzle size. The larger the hole where the water flow exits the lower the pressure becomes. The higher the water flow of the system the injector is operating on the larger the nozzle hole needs to be. This ensures the pressure is kept low enough to create the vacuum effect required to add chemical to the water stream. If you know the flow and pressure of the system your injector will be working on you can use our interactive chart below to ensure you select the correct products.

We highly recommend using a chemical filter on the end of your chemical tube. This helps to prevent any unwanted debris possibly entering your chemical injector and causing a blockage. Always check the viscosity of the chemical you are using as this can greatly affect the draw rate of the chemical into the water stream. Dosing of chemical can be adjusted by adding one of the ten nozzles inserts which are provided with each injector.

Use this chart to find the correct sized foam injector and accessories to create foam.

You will need to know the flow and pressure of the pressure washer or system that the injector is to be installed onto. Firstly select the closest flow rate on the left (round up if required), then move right across the chart until you are at the closest pressure column. The top number is the injector size you require and the number in brackets is the foam head size, click on the box to view the required accessories and different foam injector options available.

We highly recommend using a chemical filter on the end of your chemical tube. This helps to prevent any unwanted debris possibly entering your chemical injector and causing a blockage. Chemical suction is affected by water temperature

At higher temperatures the maximum achievable vacuum drops significantly. The graph demonstrates that at temperatures of 90°C and above, the venturi effect becomes impossible.
