Description
The Delavan half hollow fuel nozzle is designed to create a hollow or semi-hollow cone-shaped spray pattern. It has multiple orifices or channels through which the fuel flows, leading to the formation of a hollow or partially hollow spray pattern. The hollow pattern allows for better mixing of the fuel with air, enhancing combustion efficiency. The hollow spray pattern helps to minimize the formation of carbon deposits on the nozzle tip, which can negatively impact fuel flow and atomization over time.

Overview
Maintain operating performance
Changing your Delavan fuel nozzle regularly is essential for maintaining the efficiency, safety, and performance. Here’s why it’s important:
1. Ensures Optimal Fuel Efficiency
Over time, fuel nozzles can become clogged or worn, disrupting the precise spray pattern required for efficient combustion. A worn or clogged nozzle can result in an inconsistent fuel-air mix, leading to inefficient burning, increased fuel consumption, and higher operating costs.
2. Maintains Consistent Heating Performance
A properly functioning fuel nozzle delivers a consistent spray pattern and droplet size, which helps maintain stable combustion. When the nozzle wears down, this pattern can change, causing fluctuations in heat output and potentially leaving some areas underheated.
3. Reduces Risk of Carbon Buildup and Soot
A damaged or dirty nozzle can lead to incomplete combustion, which creates excess soot and carbon buildup inside the furnace or boiler. This not only reduces heating efficiency but also increases the need for frequent cleanings and can eventually damage the heat exchanger.
4. Prevents System Damage
A poorly functioning fuel nozzle can create excessive deposits or hot spots in the burner, leading to premature wear on parts like the combustion chamber and heat exchanger. Regular nozzle replacement can reduce wear and tear, preventing costly repairs.
5. Improves Safety
Faulty fuel nozzles can result in irregular combustion or fuel leaks, which increase the risk of dangerous conditions like burner backfire or even fire hazards. Regular replacement of the nozzle helps to ensure a safe and stable fuel burn, reducing the risk of accidents.
6. Reduces Emissions
Proper fuel atomisation and combustion reduce emissions of pollutants like carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). A clean, functioning nozzle supports complete combustion, which reduces harmful emissions, helping to meet environmental standards and lowering the system’s environmental impact.
7. Cost Savings
Regular nozzle replacement is a low-cost maintenance measure that can lead to significant savings by maximising fuel efficiency and preventing costly repairs. An efficient system means lower energy bills, fewer service calls, and a longer lifespan for the equipment.
